Excavations at Shurton – Latest News

Cotswold Archaeology have been busy at the site of the latest dig at Hinkley Point C. Finds include Bronze Age pottery, deer antler, post-medieval pottery and a spindle whorl (used for producing woollen thread from fleece).  Don’t forget that you can view previous posts to find out more information about the excavation which started at Christmas.

Every Thursday at 11am, you can meet the Outreach Officer to find out the latest news and see the archaeologists at work. Meet by the new security fence in the field just north of Bum Brook, Shurton.  Wet weather clothing and wellies are advised!
