Over 280 visitors enjoyed a ‘Wild Day Out’ at the Avalon Marshes Centre at Shapwick, Somerset. The weather was sunny, although quite chilly and the rain almost held off!
The Hinkley Point Outreach team ran prehistoric pottery making inspired by the Bronze Age beakers found inside Wick Barrow, Hinkley Point.
Visitors were taken on guided tours of the newly constructed Roman dining room and Saxon feasting hall, work that’s been carried out by the South West Heritage Trust and volunteers over the last four years. Families were able to try out the interactive water model of the Somerset levels, take part in trailor rides across the reserve and go pond dipping. A fun day was had by all!
