Around 50 members of the Somerset Masonic Widows Association enjoyed an archaeology talk at their headquarters in Nailsea. Archaeology Outreach Officer Jane Hill gave an illustrated presentation about the excavations at Hinkley Point and Cannington by pass. Members saw images of archaeologists in action, the Bronze Age enclosure at Shurton, the Roman villa and bath house at Cannington, the Saxon cemetery and some of the finds which included pottery, coins and brooches.
This what they had to say, “You packed so much information into your talk and it was the centre of conversation over lunch!”
