Come along and join the Hinkley Point Archaeology Outreach team at ‘Hands On Hinkley’ at the Avalon Marshes Centre on Saturday 18th July. Between 10am and 4pm, we will be running activities for all the family to enjoy including prehistoric pottery making and Saxon wood-working. Find out more about the recent excavations at Hinkley Point and how stone from the Roman villa discovered at Cannington is being used to build a new Roman dining room. The day is part of the ‘Festival of Archaeology’, coordinated by the Council for British Archaeology. The festival runs between Saturday 11th July and Sunday 26th July and aims to promote archaeology with events running at museums and open air sites across the country.
