Children at Bridgwater library enjoyed the ‘Ruined House’ story at a session held yesterday. The children handled some of the small artefacts featured in the story including clay tobacco pipes and pieces of blue patterned china. The soft owl and swallow proved very popular as did the plastic creepy crawlies! The children produced some lovely pictures which they were able to take home afterwards.
Rachel Bellamy, Learning Officer also held a pop up Hinkley Archaeology stall in the library foyer. Visitors to the library were able to chat to Rachel about the archaeology and see Roman pottery, brooches and hair pins discovered during the 2012 excavations.
